Premium architectural illumination

Halo-lit channel letters with a refined nighttime glow.

Halo-lit—also called reverse-lit—channel letters illuminate the wall behind each character. The soft outline gives offices, hospitality brands and upscale retail storefronts a distinctive architectural finish.

Reverse lighting that shapes the whole facade

Instead of shining light through the front face, halo-lit letters use rear-facing LEDs to wash the mounting wall with light. Stand-offs hold each letter away from the surface, creating a controlled glow around the perimeter.

The result is subtle but highly visible after dark. It is a strong choice when the building design, brand and surrounding materials call for something more architectural than a bright acrylic face.

The wall is part of the sign

Halo quality depends on more than the letters themselves. Wall colour, surface texture, stand-off distance and ambient lighting influence how evenly the glow appears. We review those conditions before the approved design moves into fabrication.

A smooth, matte surface usually gives the most even result. Textured brick or stone can still work, but the halo may follow the surface texture and appear more organic. The online building-photo preview helps establish placement and scale before technical review.

Custom fabrication and installation support

Choose the letter height, font, face finish, illumination colour and mounting method that fit the brand. We provide a full-size placement pattern with approved orders and can prepare supply-only projects for sign shops and installers across Canada.

Ontario retail projects can add professional installation. The reviewed quote separates fabrication, installation, engineering, permits and final electrical connection so responsibilities are clear before work begins.

Common questions

What businesses ask us

Are halo-lit and reverse-lit letters the same?

The terms are commonly used for letters that project light from the back toward the wall. The resulting glow outlines each letter and creates a softer architectural effect than a forward-facing illuminated face.

What wall surface works best for halo lighting?

A solid, relatively even and non-reflective wall usually produces the clearest halo. Brick, stone texture, wall colour, stand-off distance and nearby lighting can all change the appearance, so the mounting surface is reviewed before fabrication.

Can halo-lit letters be read during the day?

Yes. The opaque letter face and dimensional returns remain visible in daylight. At night, the rear LEDs create the illuminated outline that gives halo-lit signage its distinctive premium look.

Is installation available outside Niagara?

Retail customers can request professional installation anywhere in Ontario. Supply-only orders include an installation pattern and can be picked up in Beamsville or shipped within Canada.
